About Us

Sioux County, which is located in the northwest corner of Iowa, was named after the Sioux Indian tribe that roamed the western praries of Iowa. The name means "Little Snakes".

As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the population was 31,589. The County has a total area of 769 square miles. The county seat is located in Orange City.
